Multnomah Falls / Blalock Canyon

East of Portland along I-84.

This is a really nice bit of scenery, full of mist in the air and a breathtaking amount of natural splendor (minus the nearby expressway). There were hundreds of people there, taking away from the spectacular or "escaped" sense one may find in more secluded areas, but the awe and wonder is still there.

Several miles east is Blalock Canyon, a location that pictures could hardly sum up. Here's a try though.

Beautiful! We have a waterfall in the mountains near here, unfortunately the only time the water falls is after a heavy rain - the one time it is near impossible to make it up the trail to see the thing.

Multnomah Falls is a beatiful spot. It is too close to the highway and full of tourists.

Another place I love is Proxy Falls off of Hwy 126 near Belknap Hot Springs. This place is less known than Multnomah and though not as high, much more peaceful

I have seen the sign for Blalock Canyon off of I-84 but never gone off the highway there. I think I will next time.

I just have a regular ol' KODAK. It takes great photos but the printouts look like digitized cheapery.

That's because it's an old ass 2 megapixel. Most people's cell phones have 2 or better these days. Time for an upgrade. Dude, you can walk to the top of Multnomah Falls, and beyond, there's several hiking trails up there. Most people don't go up there, so you do get some solitude.
